ADOLUX® APH 09 - Based on the recipes of the original Rodinal formulation from 1918. APH 09 produces negatives with extreme sharpness and causes high accutance and edge effect. It is ideally suited for large format negatives or fine grain films.
The dilution may be varied between 1+10 und 1+400.
Diluting the developer and adjusting the developing time lets you modify the curve of the film.
Developers with extreme equalizing power such as ATM 49 are not first choice for zone system work because they tend to lift up thes haddows and push the highligts down making them idealy suitable for 35mm films where you find many different contrast situations in just one film but keeping you from purposely modifying the curve in those areas.
This is one of the prefered aplications for APH09.
1 Liter of concentrate. The overall capacity of the bottle depends on the dilution and ranges from 70 to 200 Films.
Shelf life of diluted working solution: 1 hour
Shelf life of concentrate: up to 50 years.
Use this developer for:
Sheet films where grain size does not matter at all but the sharpens and accutance and edge effect add to the image properties
Very fine grain miniature and rollfilms (for the saem reasons as for sheetfilms)
If you prefer accutance, edge effect and sharpness over fine grained images
To experiment with different dilutions and developing times in order to adjust the curve of the film (zone system work).
